Runners Haute Route

Taking the high way!

This is a faster paced tour for previous Kora Explore tour or race participants. We’ll alternate between our ‘improved’ version of the classic Chamonix to Zermatt “walkers” route, and other especially selected ‘haute routes’ across some of the other high mountain regions in Switzerland. Like this we hope to share some of the “best of the best” of Switzerland’s high alpine trails.

Email or message us for details of the 2023 ‘haute route’!!

The Classic – between Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn

Please note this isn’t offered every year to allow us to explore other exciting ‘haute routes’!

A high route between the traditional villages at the heart of alpinism – Chamonix and Zermatt – from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn & Monte Rosa! This is a faster paced tour for previous Kora Explore tour or race participants. We adjust the classic Chamonix to Zermatt “walkers” route to take in some of the best of the high trails of the Valais.

Please do email Lizzy if you have any questions or want further information and advice.

Arrival

Chamonix and Zermatt Grächen are easily reached by public transport from Geneva airport. Please see sbb.ch/en for information, timetables and prices within Switzerland. Check the Chamonix tourism website for transfers from Geneva: https://www.chamonix.com/

Insurance:

Insurance in case of accident, emergency or illness etc. is the responsibility of the participant. You must have personal accident insurance sufficient to cover the cost of search and evacuation in Italy and Switzerland, valid for the duration of the running camp.  Please bring your insurance document with you. We also recommend that you take out a normal travel insurance to cover cancellation.

Equipment:

A recommended kit list will be sent to you on receipt of your booking. Bags will be transported from start to finish of each day’s stage – so we only need to run with a rucksack with what is needed for the day. Please note that you will need to carry sufficient clothing for alpine trails and mountain weather conditions!
