Grüss von Grächen

14-19 June & 10-15 July

Based in the village of Grächen we explore some of the best running tours in the Valais. Focusing on day tours we have greater flexibility and we can tailor the camp to you, the participants, depending on the weather conditions & snow cover (for the mid-June camp). This is an ideal opportunity to boost your technical skills and endurance! Depending on the day’s itinerary we can also offer guided yoga or meditation session. Grächen is easily accessible by public transport and it is a delightful small village situated on a sunny alp with superb views. A nice place to be based for a few days!

We are offering this with two choices of accommodation – comfortable 3* hotel or self-catering budget accommodation with 3-4 person rooms – so that you can choose the option that suits you best. Want to come with your family or non-running partner or friend? It’s also a great place for your companions to be based for hiking or outdoor activities or visiting nearby Zermatt. We can give you suggestions!

The great thing about being based in Grächen is the flexibility to choose day tours according to the group and the conditions. Here are just a few of our favourites:

  • Grächen to Zermatt along the renowned Europaweg, crossing the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world!
  • Saas Fee to Grächen höhenweg with breathtaking mountain scenery with views of Weissmies, Laggin, Fletsch, Balfrin or Bietschhorn and the valleys below.
  • Grächen – Reidgletscher – Grächen along the route of the new UTMR Berglauf with a mid-run break at the Bordierhütte
  • St Niklaus (Jungen) to Randa via the Topalihütte – the little known gem with magnificent mountain scenery
  • Zermatt – Hörnlihütte – Zermatt – right to the foot of the iconic Matterhorn
  • Zermatt – Trift – Mettelhorn (3320m) – Höhbalmen – Schönbiel – Zmutt – Zermatt

We’ve spent a lot of time now in and around Grächen while organising the Ultra Tour Monte Rosa. There are some magnificent trails right from the village and nearby in this part of the Swiss canton Wallis / Valais. So we thought now it’s time to have a running camp based in Grächen to share these gems with you!
