Registration Information

This is the information for you to complete your registration for the Grächen Berglauf

Please read carefully and then complete the registration form linked at the bottom of this page.

This is a challenging race on high alpine trails. We want you to have fun and enjoy your journey so we need to check that you do have sufficient experience to cope with the demands of the terrain and to look after yourself under all possible conditions.

Selection will be made on a first come first served basis. The organisation will reserve a few wild card places to be allocated at its discretion.

Required experience

Entry is open to anyone aged 18 and over. You will follow a beautiful and challenging route taking you right to the edge of the awe-inspiring Riedgletscher. Please be aware this is a tough mountain race and we recommend prior experience of running and hiking on mountain terrain. Please email  info@graechenberglauf.ch if you need advice on your suitability. 

Registration cost

Fee: 80 CHF 

The registration fee includes:

• race bib number and chip timing
• Baggage storage
• 1 checkpoints provisioned with water and snacks
• First aid / medical support
• Participation gift
• Overall and category prizes according to ranking

Obligatory equipment

• whistle
• emergency blanket
• headgear (buff, bandana or hat)
• capacity to carry 1 litre water
• windproof jacket*

*bad weather forecast: hooded waterproof jacket – in case this is needed you will be notified by email and sms by 6am on race day.

Race registration and equipment check

Race registration will take place in Grächen on Friday 5 September between 16:00h and 19:00h and Saturday 6 September between 07:30h and 09:00h. This is mandatory.

Your race number and timing chip will be given to you on:

• presentation of photographic ID (passport, identity card)
• check of obligatory equipment

Finalised race information and schedule

Detailed, finalised information about the race will be available by 20:00h Saturday 30th August 2025.

• Checkpoint locations, time barriers and services (food, drink, first aid)
• Day-to-day race schedule

Insurance

Each race participant must have personal accident insurance sufficient to cover the cost of evacuation in Switzerland. The insurance policy must be valid at least for the duration of the race.

N.B. Helicopter evacuations in Switzerland are not free of charge. The choice of evacuation will depend exclusively on the organisation which will prioritise the participant’s security.

Cancellation

50% refund can be requested until Saturday 30th August only by email to contact@ultratourmonterosa.com. We strongly recommend purchasing a travel insurance policy to cover you if you must withdraw from the race. Thank you.
