Terms and conditions

Upon submission of the registration form:-

The participant submits a self-willed and binding registration for Ultra Tour Monte Rosa (“the event”), as organised by KORA Explore GmbH (“the organisation”).

The participant understands the demands of the event and warrants that he/she possesses the necessary skills and experience.

Compensation claims brought by the participant against the organiser, for whatever legal reason, are excluded. Each participant agrees to waive all legal claims against the organiser or promoter, as well as their helpers or agents. This does not apply, if the organiser, his legal representatives or his agents have acted with intent or with gross negligence in the execution of their duties or if the organiser is duly liable due to accountable damages resulting from injuries to the life, the body or the health of a person or the breach of constitutive contractual obligations.

The participant consents to be subjected to tests and inspections on his/her person and obligatory equipment as ordered by the organisation.

The participant knows, understands, and fully acknowledges the conditions of participation and the Rules and Regulations. The participant expressly confirms that he/she has fully read and understood the Rules and Regulations.

In consideration of the opportunity to take part in the event, the participant hereby grants to the organiser a sole license to use and exploit in any manner any photographs, images, video or other media arising from or connected with the event throughout the world in all and any media.

The participant agrees to the publication of his/her public ranking obtained during the event, together with their name.

With the release of an email address, the participant knowingly allows the organiser to use this email address to send additional event information.

The organiser will not be liable for health risks of a participant that are in any way connected with taking part in the event. It is incumbent on the participant to make sure he/she is in good health and the participant warrants and undertakes that this is so.

The participant has to take charge of his/her own obligatory equipment according to the Rules and Regulations.

The participant accepts that participation in the event will be at their own risk and that adequate personal insurance coverage (valid in foreign countries) exists in case of an accident or injury.

By starting at the event, the participant affirms that he/she is unaware of any health concerns that would undermine his/her participation in the event and that his/her physical level of performance meets the requirements that such an alpine endurance race places on the body and mind.

The organiser will not be liable for lost valuables, clothing or equipment.

The organiser shall not be held responsible nor liable for delay in performing, or failure to perform, any of its obligations in respect of the event if such delay or failure results from events, circumstances or causes beyond its reasonable control. The organiser further disclaims all liability for damages that may arise because a participant is prevented by legal regulations and/or governmental orders to partake in the event.

All participants have to return to the organiser the issued timing chip after the event at the finish line.

Costs for third party services, e.g. rescue services, have to be paid by the participant. The organiser reserves the right to charge any of these costs to the participant and the participant hereby indemnifies the organiser in respect of any such costs that the organiser might incur on behalf of the participant. It is strongly recommended to have a private health insurance (valid abroad), which covers helicopter rescue and patient transport back home.

Each participant accepts that checks of obligatory equipment may be performed at any time during the event, and lack of obligatory equipment may lead to disqualification. The participant accepts the judgement of the organisation for this.

Each participant exonerates the organiser from any responsibility for damages to property and persons, including personal injury and/or death. Each participant holds all and exclusive responsibility for any damage caused to third parties or third party properties. Each participant agrees that the organiser shall not be liable to the participant for any actions of any spectators or any third party at the event.

The organiser shall be entitled to assign, license or deal in any other manner with any or all of its rights and obligations.

These terms and conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or its subject matter or formation (including noncontractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of Switzerland. Each party irrevocably agrees that the courts of Switzerland shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with this agreement or its subject matter or formation (including noncontractual disputes or claims).
